Venice

general

One of the goals when creating arenas for the Rogue Angel mode was to find at least a few references to the OG Painkiller. That’s how the Venice concept came about, referencing the City on Water from Painkiller Hell & Damnation. It’s our interpretation of that level in an arena format.

Initially the work and first sketches were done by Kevin Bilski. After some time I took ownership of the level and iterated it heavily — I returned it to a blockout form and you can find the results below.

It features sharp corners, narrow passes, open square and the recognizable bridge that connects two areas separated by the bloody canal.

The environment was created by Szymon Wlazło.

First draft
