Movement arena zoo map

While working on the Rogue Angel mode we considered different forms of new activities/objectives for players on the arenas. One proposal was to introduce movement-focused arenas that would emphasize the use of players’ movement abilities and parkour skills.

We wanted the work on these arenas to progress quickly and be easy to iterate on — so I prepared a Zoo map with ready to use modules, measured and labeled metrics, and different variations of those modules that utilize the character’s movement abilities.

The map contains a number of modules and their variations, as well as a test course showing how the modules can be used. These modules were later used in the creation of the Pipes, Dune, and Snake arenas.
